Oliver Guy-Watkins b.1979 Gloucestershire, England
Oliver Guy-Watkins studied an MA in Fine Art at Central St Martins in London, prior to this he was a self taught artist undertaking a largely relational practice. His work has developed into installation, sculpture and interventions that balance the real and the artificial, as well as Film Direction.
In 2011 he was commissioned by MotiRoti to investigate Happiness in relation to The UK Census for the What Counts series. His work is part of The University Of The Arts London collection. He curated the Ruhe Bewahren in Berlin in 2008, as well as the Life Is Elsewhere exhibition at The Crypt Gallery in St Pancras in 2011. His performance The Smoke That Roams Looking For A Home, Drifts Into Me was selected by Robert Montgomery for the exhibition Signs That Say What You Want Them To Say at Lights Of Soho gallery in London.
In 2012 Guy-Watkins set up Hyde Hill Productions. Since it’s birth Hyde Hill has produced three of his short films – A List Of Angels, If We Just Meet and The End Of Lois Lane, as well as his feature film Always In The Present. He also acted as executive producer on A E Omans debut short film Raw.
